Dublin show this weekend CANCELLED

The pro boxing show scheduled to take place in Dublin this Saturday [April 1st] night has been unfortunately cancelled.

Táimid Laochra,’ the debut offering from It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland was set to take place at the National Stadium on the South Circular Road.

The show, which was due to be televised live via Showcase TV [Sky channel 212], will now no longer take place due to behind the scenes issues, with the fighters being informed of the cancellation this afternoon.

The Boxing Union of Ireland confirmed that they have withdrew permission for the show “due to a number of conditions not being complied with by the promoter.

The card was to feature 13 boxers. Headlined by Cuban-Cork heavyweight Mike Perez, there was also spots for Ger Whitehouse, Carl McDonald, Jay Byrne, Lynn Harvey, Bernard Roe, Allan Phelan, Rohan Date, as well as five professional debuts for John Joyce, Regan Buckley, Barry Barnes, Dylan McDonagh, Keane McMahon.

It’s A Bout Boxing Ireland is made up of Birmingham’s Marcus Anderson Hitchen of It’s A Bout Boxing and Tallaght’s Frank Stacey of FS Promotions. Last year saw FS Promotions, who ran an entertaining debut show in June, have two further cards cancelled. The first of these was in September, admittedly a show which was not formally announced, then a December show set to be headlined by Christina McMahon in a WBA super flyweight title fight with Linda Laura Lecca was also scrapped.

The next pro show scheduled to take place in Ireland is Kieran Farrell’s first Belfast offering at the Devenish Complex on Saturday April 22nd. This will feature Feargal McCrory, Mathew Fitzsimons, Ger Healy, Joe Fitzpatrick, Sean McGlinchey, Mark Morris, and Dan McShane.
