DECLAN Geratghy will make his pro début as early as next month and hopes to fight in 4 week increments for the remainder of the year.

The Former Irish Senior champion turned over recently signing with Macklin’s Gym Marbella. He is currently in Spain preparing for his paid journey and told Irish-boxing.com that he will start a busy schedule in sunny Spain as early as May 10.

“l am having my first pro fight in May and should have one the month after. I have a lot of fights lined up already.”

The Crumlin graduate, who spent the Summer training in the Wild Card, will be working alongside fellow Dubliner Anthony Fitzgerald as well as ‘Tipperary Tornado’ Matthew Macklin and will be trained by young coach Seamus Macklin.

Geraghty claims he is settling in well in the MGM and is learning under his new coach.

“Working with Seamus has being great. We get along with each other and understand each other. He has being showing me new things and we are focusing on certain things l need to be doing different in the pro ranks. For example I am focusing on hitting a lot hard and stuff along those lines,” added Geraghty.

“I went to the MGM a few weeks ago for a little chat and straight away l knew this was a great place, they all made me feel welcome . I’m settling in great we are like a big family and all want the best for each other.”
