Dean Byrne [18(6)-6(2)-2] will look to upset one of Scotland’s biggest prospects next month.

The London-based Crumlin welter will take on ‘Kid Caramel’ Lewis Benson [6(2)-0] on Saturday October 1st on an MGM-promoted show at the Bellahouston Leisure Centre in Glasgow. The Scottish card will be broadcast live on Boxnation TV.

The Edinburgh 24 year old represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and has had a flawless start to his professional career thus far, but Irish Lightining represents a massive step up in class for the youngster.

32 year old Byrne, who won last time out live on Sky Sports in March against Jamie Robinson in Sheffield, does not have much time to prepare for the bout, but the highly-skilled Dub will be backing himself to cause an upset.

There is additional Irish interest on the card in the form of Dublin duo Declan Geraghty and Stephen Ormond – who will be making his MGM debut.
