Date announced for Jake Hanney’s return to the ring

Jake Hanney [5(4)-1(1)] will make his return to the ring next month following his first career loss.

The East Wall light welterweight was stopped in the sixth by Tyrone McKenna in an exciting BUI Celtic title fight in Belfast last month, and will be back between the ropes just eleven weeks later.

Since the defeat Hanney has linked up with Jay Byrne’s new pro stable and has secured a new date on the ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ bill.

The mercurially talented Dubliner will be looking for a quick return to winning ways at the National Stadium on the Saturday May 27th card.

Hanney is the fifteenth fighter announced for the bill. Also set to feature are Eric Donovan, Crank Whitehouse, Sean Creagh, Stephen Carroll, Vladimir Belujsky, Allan Phelan, Carl McDonald, Jay Byrne and Lynn Harvey. There will also be debut dates for Keane McMahon, Liam Gaynor, John Joyce, and Regan Buckley on the jam-packed card in the capital.

Tickets for ‘Celtic Clash 2: The Rising’ will be priced at €15 (Under 15s), €30, €40, €45, and €55 (Premium), and will be available from the boxers involved by the end of this week.
