Crowd-pleaser Martin Quinn promising debut statement

‘Celtic Clash 3: Building Champions’ look set to break records in terms of Irish fight cards.

The September 9th show at the National Stadium will play host the the most number of Irish fighters on the one bill, beating the record set in May by Celtic Clash 2.

The will be debutants and prospects galore on the card which will be headlined by a BUI Celtic featherweight title fight between Eric Donovan and Dai Davies. In that sense, those on the undercard will need to put on a memorable performance to stand out from their fellow fighters.

This shouldn’t be any issue for crowd-pleasing Crumlin lightweight Martin Quinn.

The Dublin debutant is a real character inside and outside of the ring, and has promised that he will make a big statement next month.

Deep in training for his paid bow, Quinn outlined how “I’m buzzing, I can’t wait. I’m feeling fit, I’m not where I need to be, but I’m getting there.”

“I just want to get in there now and get the first one out of the way.”

The 30 year old, trained by Seany Carton, knows the need to entertain. Quinn brought an army with him in February and went to war on Jay Byrne’s most recent semi-pro show, as such he now enters the professional ranks already with a reputation for entertainment.

“I’ll always give a good fight,” pledges Quinn. “You’ll get your money’s worth.”

In terms of a prediction, Quinn foresees an early night and states: “September the 9th, some bloke is getting stopped.”

Headlined by the Donovan-Davies title fight, the Celtic Clash 3 card also features Colin O’Donovan, Michael Gallagher, Regan Buckley, Carl McDonald, Chris Mullally, Stephen McAfee, Niall O’Connor, James Cahill, Gerard Whitehouse, Bernard Roe, John Joyce, Liam Gaynor, and Dylan McDonagh.

Tickets cost €30 (Balcony), €40 (Gallery), €60 (Ringside), €100 (VIP Premium), and €15 (Under-15s gallery – must be bought alongside an adult ticket) and are available to buy from the All Saints Boxing Club, by calling 0857047533, or online at Ticketmaster.ie.
