Cronin to join fellow Kingdom warrior on Scottish bill

Kevin Cronin will join fellow Kerry fighter Siobhan O’Leary on a Scottish card next month.

O’Leary has been handed a big break through opportunity as she fights Eftychia Kathopouli for the BUI Celtic title in Glasgow next month.

The new to the game light heavyweight joins her on the dinner show and adds significant Kerry influence to the card.

It will be the third time the Boxing Ireland fighter has taken to the ring since turning over in March.

The 23-year-old will be delighted with the prospect of being kept busy and will look to build on wins over the game Mateusz Lisiak and tricky 120-fight veteran Jevgenijs Andrejevs.

It’s also the Milltown native’s second fight on the road. Cronin appeared in London and York Hall in June and now heads to Scotland, Glasgow and the DoubleTree by Hilton at Strathclyde Business Park, Bellshill.

There is also suggestion Cavan fighter Dominic Donegan may appear on the card as he looks to extend his winning start and also gain more on the road experience.

Speaking to Irish-boxing.com after his most recent victory ‘The Kingdom Warrior’ said of his second pro win.
I was happy to get the four rounds, very happy. It was a tough four rounds but it’s what I wanted coming over here, I didn’t want to come all the way to London for an easy walkover.”

“It was a good experience and I got the win. He was a tough opponent, he wasn’t going to be easy taking out of there but I knew that coming in. I put him down in the third but I wasn’t going to rush it because I knew he would be trying to draw me in so I just stuck to my boxing.
