Conrad Cummings [17(7)-3(0)-1] has been handed the chance to win the WBO European ranking title for the third time.

The Coalisland fighter only returned from a defeat to Luke Keeler and after overcoming a dark period in his life last Friday night at the Ulster Hall.

After his victory over Adam Grabiec ‘Mr Dynamite’ was adamant he had oiled off the ring rust and didn’t need any warm up fights.

The middleweight went as far as to say he was ready for big fights and all comers.

It seems his management team were listening and he has been handed a significant fight in less than a month’s time.

Cummings will fight undefeated Essex southpaw Danny Dignum [11(5)–0] for a title he twice won and twice lost to Ballyfermot’s Keeler.

The pair will fight for the vacant strap on an #MTKFightNight at York Hall.

Cummings first won the strap when he stopped Gogi Knezevic in March of 2017 and claimed it for a second time when he out pointed Ferenc Berki in December of last year.

He now fights the English fighter in a bid to regain the strap and a world ranking.

Former Team GB fighter Dignum is excited about the prospect of facing the Gleann man and is promising not to left the opportunity pass him by.

Dignum said that “this has given me so much motivation because I know I’m in a real 50-50 fight – not like other fights I’ve had where I’m a big favourite.

“I need to be so much better than I have been before so I’m putting in the work behind the scenes to make sure I’m at my best.

“He has more experience than me in that he’s done the rounds and that might play a part in a way but I’m simply going to grab this opportunity with both hands!”
