Conlan and Kavanagh confirmed for ‘Clash of the Clans’ card

The two Jamies’ Conlan and Kavanagh have been the first names confirmed on MGM’s February 6 Dublin show.

MGM and the Boxnation camera’s come to the National Stadium for the third time early next year with a host of Irish talent rumoured to be on display.

Irish champion Peter McDonagh is rumoured to be appearing as is the likes of Declan Geraghty and Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner.

However, Kavanagh and Conlan are the first to be officially confirmed.

Super flyweight Conlan is on a collision course with Liverpool’s Paul Butler, but it doesn’t seem the pair will clash on this card.

For lightweight Kavanagh, a former Wild Card puncher, it’s only his second clash in Dublin and he will be looking to grab more spotlight in an exciting weight clash.

MGM released the following statement this week:

“MGM Promotions are delighted to announce that their next show on 6th February “The Clash of the Clans” will feature both MGM´s Jamie Conlan and Jamie Kavanagh. Both fighters are on course for spectacular 2016 and will get the new-year started in Dublin.

The Clash of the Clans will be the first show of 2016 with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions and BoxNation.”

The fact the fight night is being billed as a ‘Clash of the Clans’ suggests there could be an Irish Scottish theme to the night.
