Clancy secures Summer title tilt

Gearoid Clancy will have the chance to buckle a title around his waist on July 2.

The Australian based Galway puncher lost a 10 round decision last time out losing out to Brendan Saunders, a fighter he previously defeated to claim the New South Wales lightweight title.

The 31 year old will go straight into another title fight and will challenge for WBF World honours.

The WBF is not a title given much time or respect by fight fans, but it does provide Clancy with the chance to gain some form of silverware if he claims victory on July 2.

The clash will play out in the aptly named Punchbowl in New South Wales.
