Christian Uruzquieta warns Ray Moylette ahead of Mayo headline fight

Christian Uruzquieta [17(6)-4(1)-1] is confident he will return to Mexico with a WBC rankings title and a bumped up place on the ladder after the weekend.

The 28-year-old feels he is has the skills and has put in the camp worthy of victory in a potential career-changing clash with Ray Moylette [11(4)-0] live on TG4 this Friday night.

The fighter with victorious away corner experience goes into the lion’s den and faces an extremely motivated Mayo man in Castlebar at The Royal Theater but claims he is ready to spoil the ‘Homecoming’.

“It has been a good camp to prepare me to achieve the victory,” Uruzquieta told Irish-boxing.com

“The preparation I have done gives me great confidence and I will return to my country with victory and the belt,” he continued confidently.

Like Moylette, Uruzquieta has respect for the man he faces for the ranking title this weekend.

The Mexico City man is aware of ‘Sugar Ray’s’ qualities but is sure of victory in the scheduled ten-rounder – indeed, he believes the pair are similar in approach.

Moylette has argued that he is the better boxer in most areas but his opponent holds a notable experience advantage over him while, on the other hand, Uruzquieta suggests he does everything better – perhaps in reference to these comments from the Irishman.

The United Promotions fighter explained how “we know that Ray is a great fighter but we have prepared to win.”

“Maybe we are similar but on December 7th we will see who does everything better,” added Uruzquieta, who arrives in Ireland tonight, before predicting the pair will put on a fight worthy of the TV cameras.

“I’m sure we’re going to provide a good show.”
