Confident champion Jermall Charlo [28(21)-0] suggest he will devour appetizer Dennis Hogan [28(7)-2(0)-1] while he waits to dine at the top of the middleweight table.

The American is adamant he is the best in a middleweight division that boasts the likes Gennady Golovkin, Saul Canelo Alvarez and Danny Jacobs – and he intimates the Kidare born Australian based fighter is just something to pass the time while he waits to be drawn against the big guns.

The two weight world champ puts his WBC world middleweight crown on the line against the recent WBO light middleweight title challenger at the Barclays Center on December 7.

One of two boxing brothers is certainly confident victory and suggests ‘The Hurricane’ blows into town with big hopes and not even a small chance of victory.

Indeed, at the press conference to officially announce a fight Irish-boxing.com confirmed was a go last weekend, Charlo promised a knockout victory.

“I want to thank Dennis Hogan for accepting my challenge. This belt isn’t going anywhere. I’m making a home for it at Barclays Center,” Charlo said on Thursday.

“This is going to be a knockout on December 7. I’m going to walk him straight into it. I’m going to give him exactly what he wants. I’m coming to Barclays Center to beat Hogan down. That’s what I’m going to do. I’m one of the best finishers in the world and I’m going to get a chance to show everyone on December 7,” he added before claiming he is the man in one the divisions at the moment.

“Hogan has some big hopes. Middleweight is my division. I want the biggest fights at 160. That’s not on the menu right now, so I’m going to take care of what’s here. I am the best fighter at 160-pounds. In due time, the world will get a chance to see me reveal the best version of myself.”

The single minded and always positively focused Hogan won’t be flustered by all the talk. He himself expressed a confidence from the press conference podium and proclaimed he was destined to win on December 7.

However, the 29-year-old ‘Hit Man’ isn’t concerned about the challengers state of mind arguing he won’t be able for the champions physical attributes regardless.

“I’m not worried about Hogan’s confidence. He is just number 30 to me. We’re going to get in there well prepared. I could fight tomorrow. Hogan is going to get a chance to see what he can do against my speed and my skills.

“This training camp has gone really smooth so far. I’m focused on being relaxed in the ring, so that when it’s time to explode, I’m ready. I want to go in there and have fun and keep working towards that next level.”

Hogan suggested to Irish-boxing.com earlier this week that he was devising the kind of game plan that confused Jaime Munguia for the American, but again the confident Charlo is adamant he has seen enough to the 34-year-old to know they are not on the same level.

“We’ve watched what we need to of Hogan. He’s not on my level. It’s time to get back to where I’ve always been. Barclays Center and SHOWTIME is my comfort zone. I’m on fire and I’m ready. I’m back where I want to be.”
