Chapter 2 – Francy Luzoho is ready to prove doubters wrong after making changes

Francy Luzoho [2(1)-1(0)] beings chapter two of his career in Spain as he sets about proving doubters wrong.

TheĀ Congolese Dub has returned to Tenerife and Lanzarote to train and looks set to announce a new promotional deal this week.Ā

The 24-year-old has been part of the Assassin fall-out and hasn’t fought since his defeat to Martin Quinn – a result he contests – and just felt it was time for a shake up.

After a brief stint working with Pete Taylor the former Steven O’Rourke trained fighter has elected to return to the place he feels most comfortable – and has elected to work with a coach he feels gets the best out of him.

Luzoho will now work with Jonathan O’Brien at the Champions Gym Lanzarote – and while Irish-boxing.com believe he is close to signing with a new promoter the fighter wouldn’t be drawn on anything past his new coaching set up.

“I’ve been feeling like I needed a moveĀ  for a long time but after the Assassin situation and my last fight I came to terms that I need a change. I needed a new team which resulted in me changing trainers,” he told Irish-boxing.com.

“It’s a new chapter. Let’s call it Chapter 2. I call it fresh start, but while it’s a new life, new trainer and new team it’s the same dream.”

The switch hitter had training options, but after surmising his best performance was his debut, which was cornered by O’Rourke, he felt he needed to return to the place that he feels laid the foundations for that eye catching knockout win.

“The move is going to do wonders for me. After living and Tenerife for over a year I felt it did wonders for me. Just look at my debut it speaks volumes. ThenĀ  leading to my second camp in Ireland for my second fight i didn’t haveĀ  my greatest camp or performance. I still felt I won but I should of been inĀ  better form.

“Look, that’s boxing, it just showed me training in Ireland hasn’t really benefited me much.Ā  Living hear me whole life I needed the change and sure look at least that way I can get the weight of me faster!,” he adds before commenting on his working relationship with former pro ‘Thunderbolt O’Brien’.Ā

“The relationship between me and Jon has been extremely positive. I have a strong feeling that me and him are going a lot further in this game,” he continues.Ā

“I just feel like he’s going to bring a lot more out of me, motivate me a lot more andĀ  for the short period we have met he’s gone out above and beyond for me. That means a lot to me.”

The switch has certainly seen a restoration of confidence. ‘The Butcher Boy’, who talked about being a two weight Irish champion before turning over, still has big ambitions and is adamant he will achieve his goals.

The sky is the limit. All I can say keep doubting me. Even I have to go hell and back I will achieve my dreams. I have to I have no other choice but to make it for my mum, my sisters and brothers, my fiancĆ©e, my close friends and for everyone that wants to see me succeed.”
