Celtic Clash 9 boosted by ANOTHER domestic dust-up

The big Boxing Ireland show in Belfast this October continues to grow.

Tonight Irish-Boxing.com can confirm that that the bill will play host to yet another big domestic fight, with Derry super middleweight Sean McGlinchey [2(0)-1(0)] taking on Belast-based Angolan Julio Cesar [2(0)-4(3)] for the vacant Celtic Nations title.

McGlinchey is back in the ring for the first time since he lost to current BUI Celtic champ Padraig McCrory last October and, having seen a return in May fall through, is straight back in in a significant fight.

Cesar, following a period in the away corner, came through a fun fire-fight with Casey Blair on the previous Celtic Clash card and will be confident of causing an upset over the Commonwealth Games bronze medallist.

The eight-rounder joins the headline clash between Joe Fitzpatrick and Iago Barros for the BUI Celtic title along with a number of all-Irish fights. At lightweight, Stephen Webb takes on Martin Quinn, Aiden Metcalfe faces Kelvin McDonald at super featherweights, while Conor Cooke fights Staz Tomasevski.

Also confirmed for the bill in recent days were debuts for Senan Kelly, Tony McGlynn, and Conor Doherty, along with Jamie Douglas and Aaron Gethins, while Eddie Treacy, Owen O’Neill and Sam Carroll are also slated to appear.
