Celtic Clash 7 – LIVE UNDERCARD UPDATES

One of the biggest nights of Dublin boxing this year takes place tonight at the Good Counsel GAA Club in Drimnagh.

Boxing Ireland Promotions present Celtic Clash 7 – on paper their strongest offering yet.

Headlining the bill is ‘The Battle of Jobstown’ where Dylan McDonagh and Carl McDonald clash for the Irish super bantamweight title. Chief support sees lightweights Martin Quinn and Karl Kelly face off in a certain war, while there is also a strong undercard and a live set from Aslan legend Christy Dignam.

The running order for the night can be seen HERE.

Irish-Boxing.com will be ringside for the whole night and will provide live round-by-round updates below.

Please keep refreshing page to see live updates.

9:43pm – Well, it’s been dramatic, Keane McMahon with an early stoppage while we were off getting interviews following all the Quinn-Kelly controversy. Main event now!

9:23pm – Kelly gets the nod! 58-57 on the card, the crowd are not happy and Phil Sutcliffe is furious.

Round 6 – What a final round! Kelly told by his corner that he needs a stoppage and he comes tearing out. Quinn however weathers the storm – and a good few right hands – before walking ‘Little Sexy onto a succession of clean shots in the closing moments. ‘Mighty Quinn’ is held aloft by the legendary Phil Sutcliffe Sr following the final bell and we go to the cards.

Round 5 – Quinn begins the fifth boxing but is eventually driven to the ropes by Kelly – they trade again before the Crumlin man lands a huge left hook which Kelly somehow withstands. Quinn, though, is invigorated and pushes back and has Kelly looking a bit bothered in the closing seconds.

Round 4 – Quinn takes the early part of the round, boxing well but we could be about to see a momentum swing as the Kelly seemed to hurt him towards the close.

Round 3 – Kelly is pressing the action but Quinn is showing the better boxing skills and cleaner shots. That said, some heavy blows are sneaking through from Kelly and he gets Quinn to stand and trade at the end of the round, both landing hellacious punches.

Round 2 – Kelly momentarily staggered by another big Quinn hook but is quickly back pushing. Pockets of nice bobbing and flurries from the Monkstown man but he is taking a LOT of shots – iron chin, though.

Round 1 – Kelly starts well, targeting the body but Quinn, despite 11 months out, quickly finds his timing and lands some HUGE shots. Kelly continues with bodywork, investing early.

9:53pm – Here we are – The War – Martin Quinn v Karl Kelly at lightweight over six rounds.

8:50pm – Christy Dignam has after rocking the place and now it’s time for the announcement of three new Boxing Ireland signing Dominic Donegan, Paddy Clavin; and Kevin Cronin.

8:20pm – 60-54 to Stephen McAfee – moves to 5(3)-0-1.

Round 6 – More good spurts from McAfee in the final round, was a tough fight on paper but he’s taken this in second gear.

Round 5 – A slower stanza here, McAfee still well on top and trying things – even does a no-look jab while gazing out to his supporters.

Round 4 – McAfee raining in hooks, Krawczyk’s right eye is a swollen mess but he manages to weather the storm.

Round 3 – BIG bodyshots in the third from McAfee. Krawczyk is hurt multiple times but stays up and sees out the round.

Round 2 – McAfee had been in camp for an Irish title fight with Feargal McCroy before the Tyrone fighter’s withdrawal and he is looking sharp here, landing a clean left hook that stops the Pole in his tracks. ‘Showtime’ Ste is determined to entertain and even drops his hands to allow Krawczyk land a few shots before hurting the Pole himself.

Round 1 – Krawczyk is a dangerous southpaw and a bit bigger than McAfee but it is the Dubliner on top in the opener, staying quite elusive and landing hurtful bodyshots.

7:52pm –  We keep going through. Stephen McAfee v Michal Krawcyzk over six at super feather.

Round 1 – Siobhan O’Leary’s right hand is a weapon. From the off she is hurting the Hungarian, straight right, straight right, Csazsar is completely out on her feet, somehow stays up before a MASSIVE shot sends her down and out. KO1 Siobhan O’Leary!

7:43pm – No breaks, straight into the professional debut of Kerry super feather Siobhan O’Leary. She fights Hungarian Klaudia Csazsar.

Round 1 – DRAMA – Martin Wall stopped in the opening round! The pair go to war from the opening bell and the Crumlin puncher walks into a clean left hook and is put down. Gets up but is very unsteady, Mitev goes for the finish, huge shots, Wall tries to hold but is clipped again and again and is eventually forced into the ropes where he gets tangled up. Referee Padraig O Reachtagain takes a long look and waves it off – TKO 1 Mitev.

7:34pm – Straight into Fight #4 – Martin Wall versus Radoslav Mitev at welter.

7:30pm – Referee David Irving scores it 59-55 to Reardon who moves to 4(0)-0. Credit too to Casey Blair.

Round 6 – They go toe-to-toe at the start of the final round, Blair forcing the action. Reardon tries to go back to his boxing but the journeyman backs into the corner and starts goading the prospect before they go toe-to-toe again, lashing in bodyshots. Great action, very fun fight.

Round 5 – It’s Reardon now turning the screw, landing a lot of leather on Blair, serious guts from the Team Wilton man whose cut is now looking very nasty.

Round 4 – Strong round from Reardon, coming back well and using his skills, nice uppercuts inside and a lot more elusive than before and he almost has Blair down, slumping the northerner between the ropes and landing clean shots before the bell intervenes.

Round 3 – Great round here, Blair is cut to the left of the eye but he seems to hurt Reardon with some clipping hooks. The Dubliner is showing good grit and mixing it with the veteran and the pair tap gloves at the bell as a sign of acknowledgement.

Round 2 – Reardon is winning this but is having to work very hard, Blair pushing him back, pinning him to the ropes at times.

Round 1 – Blair comes out swinging! Forces Reardon to the ropes in the opening minute but the St Michael’s Gym man and Leinster Rugby coach weathers the storm and is showing some nice work inside.

7:03pm Straight into Fight #3 and Stillorgan middleweight Cillian Reardon is stepping up to six rounds versus Bangor’s Casey Blair.

6:58pm – We go to the card and it’s a 40-36 win for Treacy who moves to 2(1)-0.

Round 4 – Right hands from Treacy to start the final round, Alexandrov’s output is almost zero now but he is standing firm. ‘The Honey Badger’ is calling our visitor on, lashing in shots but we see the final bell.

Round 3 – Barrage of shots upstairs from Treacy, Alexandrov looking in trouble but survives. The Wicklow man goes back on the jab, walking the Bulgarian down and dominating.

Round 2 – Eddie Treacy really digging in with the shots now, showing some nice hooks and work to the body. He salutes his loud crowd at the bell.

Round 1 – Controlled start to the fight from the Bray light middleweight, keeping things straight as Alexandrov uses his gloves as earmuffs, shelling up and offering little back.

6:40pm – What a start to the night and we are into fight two – Eddie Treacy v Konstantin Alexandrov.

Round 1 – Harvey starts fast, targeting the body, bothering Kolompar from the off. Heavy shots before switching upstairs, over the top of the Hungarian’s tentative jabs, Kolompar backtracking rapidly, taking more and more shots, David Irving steps in – TKO1 LYNN HARVEY.

6:29pm – Here we go! Lynn Harvey v Kitty Kolompar over six rounds at flyweight. Harvey making her long awaited comeback after a year out having seen a fight – versus the same opponent – fall through at the last minute last month.

6:15pm – In the venue now, action hasn’t started just yet, traffic accident nearby causing a bit of a hold-up and a bit of a queue is just being processed before kicking off with Lynn Harvey v Kitti Kolompar.

5:29pm – On the Luas and almost at the venue, first bell tonight is looking to be around 6:00pm!
