Carmichael faces Moses Matovu on Waterfront Brawl card

Belfast’s big Conall Carmichael makes his professional return after over a year out since losing a tight decision in the Prizefighter tournament to Hari Miles on the June 20 Waterfront Brawl.

Former amateur star Carmichael is hungry for success after his extended break from the sport and will look to put on a good show when he takes on former foe, Belfast’s Ugandan Moses Matovu over four rounds in an international Cruiserweight contest.

Having boxed all over the World in the unpaid ranks and swapping leather with future stars such as Andre Ward, Carmichael will be as determined as ever to make a successful transition to the pro-game. If Cruiserweight Carmichael, 4(2) – 1, can win in style there are a number of big fights out there for the Belfast man against an array of domestic talent in what is fast becoming one of the most interesting and competitive divisions in Britain and Ireland.

Ghana’s former Olympian Isaac Dogboe will start the evening off in an international Featherweight contest against Turkey’s Nedim Kara. The sparring partner of none other than Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton, Dogboe, 1(1) – 0, has not been offered the opportunities in the professional game to display his undoubted skills but on the 20th of June, the Accra born punching machine will get his chance to show the British and Irish fans what he is all about.

Doors open at 6pm on the 20th of June and Boxing starts at 6.30pm. Tickets priced at £30, £40 and £60 are available from the Waterfront Hall Box Office on 028 9033 4455 or www.waterfront.co.uk
