Boxnation cameras won’t be coming to Belfast this Summer

When a bruised-up Jamie Conlan told reporters in the immediate aftermath of his victory over Anthony Nelson he wanted to a return to Belfast and a Summer fight in the Ulster Hall Irish fight fans’s ears pricked up.

When he proceeded to say he would be willing to do the Fight of the Year contender again and rematch the man he just took the Commonwealth title from, Irish fight fans’s ears began to look like elves’s.

Talk of Frank Warren coming to Belfast increased, and a card including the likes of James Tennyson, Joe Fitzpatrick and Ciaran McVarnock seemed logical enough for people to suggest the rumour mill was churning out truth.

However, news that the likeable and all-action super flyweight has been added to the Frank Warren show at the Cardiff Ice Arena on July 16th put paid to any hopes Boxnation show in Belfast this summer.

Conlan has stated Belfast was discussed and promised when he signed with Warren and the fact Tennyson, McVarnock and Fitzpatrick suggests the capital of Irish boxing is on the radar, but not for this Summer.
