Big Sexy ready to shut his ‘Big Mouth’

It’s not just his sex appeal or punch that are sizable, Big Sexy admits he can have a big mouth at times, and claims it is something he will keep in check moving forward.

Sean Turner has had word wars with the likes of Martin Rogan and Jason Gavern in the past – and while some would argue the approach worked with two known names who could raise the former Elite Senior champ’s profile and were more than willing to trade leather in what were growing grudge matches – the Dublin heavyweight is now looking to take a different approach.

Turner is instead ready to let his fists do the talking. The MGM puncher believes he is close to big fights and believes fighting in England this Saturday gives him the chance to move closer to putting his name in the mix.

“I don’t think I am too far off big fights to be honest. I will be 8-0 after the weekend and I can start to push then,” he told Irish-boxing.com.

“I am happy to fight in England. There are some big names over there and fighting in front of English fans and people within the game there can only help me. I will make sure they all take notice.”

“I spoke to my manager at the start of the year and he told me this would be a big year for me, so I am looking forward to getting my name out there. I don’t know the exact plan of action, I will leave that to my management team, they know what they are doing.”

“I do know I won’t be running my big mouth off anymore/ If I keep winning the fights will come. Now if someone has a go at me they are going to get it back, but I won’t be calling anyone out or that.”

Turner is keen to bank some rounds as he begins to step it up a level over the coming months. He has stopped five of his seven opponents with four of those stoppages coming in the first round and, considering an early night is always an option, he feels he needs regular fights to bank experience.

“I am pushing 10-0 and I do need rounds. If I am knocking lads out I need to be busy to get the rounds in,” he added before again stating he feels he can compete at the highest level in the sport.

“I am well able for the big names. I was in with the best there was as an amateur so there is no reason to think I can’t do that as a pro. I would fight anyone the team put in front of me. We have been offered a few last minute fights and then never heard back, but give me eight weeks to get ready and I will dedicate everything to ensuring I win one of the those big fights.”
