‘Big fights soon’- Dylan Moran reveals promoters plans ahead of American debut

Dylan Moran [10(5)-0] is closing in on some big fights.

The Waterford welterweight debuts in American tonight at Resort World Catskills Casino, Catskill , Upstate New York and believes victory will prove the first big step toward more significant fights.

It’s also the 24-year-olds first clash with notable American promoter Joe DeGuardia having joined the New York based Star Boxing earlier in the year.

Moran has previously admitted he is under pressure to perform and claimed he is motivated to take his chance in what he labelled a career changing opportunity.

His new promoter DeGuardia has called for Moran to impress and if he does against Kenyan Dennis Okoth Stateside tonight he will be progressed fast.

“The promoters are looking to push me. They want to get me in the rankings and get the record up there, so we can be in involved in some big fights soon.”

The majority of Moran’s 10 fights to date have played out in Ireland and came on Assassin Promotion shows.

With Assassin now off the scene and the Star Boxing link up America looks like it may be the Deise fighters new fighting home.

Indeed, he reveals Brooklyn is the place his team want to him to become a fixture at.

“Yeah it’s looking like I’m going to be kept busy in America going forward. They plan on building me in Brooklyn, but to do that I’ve got to be winning starting with Friday night one fight at a time,” he adds before stressing he has worked hard to ensure he catches the eye tonight.

“Training camp went great and knowing what I was training for certainly gave me that extra drive.”
