Betting Odds for Jaime Munguia v Dennis Hogan

It’s Dennis versus Goliath tonight in Mexico according to the bookies.

While he has more of a chance than Anthony Crolla versus Vasyl Lomachenko last night, Dennis Hogan is being given little chance of defeating WBO light middleweight champion Jaime Munguia by the oddsmakers.

Hogan will look to rip the title away at the Arena Monterrey in what would surely be the greatest result in Irish boxing history.

Munguia is a best-priced at just 1/33 on (bet365) to retain his title. By comparison, Hogan is as wide 14/1 (Paddy Power, Betfair) to pull off one of the shocks of the year. The draw is out at 40/1 (Boylesports).

A stoppage win is expected for Munguia who is 1/4 (Ladbrokes, William Hill) to bring about the finish inside twevle and as long as 4/1 (bet365) to win on points.

A knockout for Hogan comes in at 33/1 (Paddy Power, Betfair) while for him to outlast and outpoint Munguia is even longer at 40/1 (Boylesports).

The fight is 4/1 to go the distance (bet365) and 3/10 (Ladbrokes) to end inside – better value than the Method of Victory markets for Munguia along.

In terms of round groups, a first half stoppage for Munguia is 5/4 and a second half finish is 8/5 (both Ladbrokes). The corresponding prices for Hogan are 55/1 for both (both Betfair).
