Most boxing fans will have seen over the past few weeks that Nikolai Valuev, the seven foot tall Russian former WBA heavyweight champ, is now a children’s television presenter.

‘The Beast From The East’ however isn’t the only former boxing champ who has turned his glove to children’s TV.

Bernard Dunne, the biggest Irish boxing star of the 2000s and the man to bring boxing to the masses, is to present a show on RTÉ Jr in the coming months.

‘The Irish Rover’ will host Bernard Dunne’s Mythical Heroes which takes a look at the rich tapestry of characters from Irish folklore.

The show, written and starring 36 year old Dunne, will run for six episodes and is aimed at 0-7 year olds.

The first episode of the series airs on Thursday November 3rd at 5pm (Irish time).
