Alan Donnellan has chance for knockout return next weekend

Galway’s Alan Donnellan [8(2)-0] returns to the ring next weekend against journeyman opposition.

The Galway super middleweight takes on Hungarian Gabor Zsalek [11(6)-35(24)-2)] over six rounds at the National Stadium on the FS Promotions/Hatton Boxing ‘The Future’ card.

The Central European fighter has more stoppage losses than most Irish boxers have had fights, and Tribesman Donnellan will be looking to blow off the cobwebs with a knockout win.

Zsalek actually comes into next Saturday’s bout on the back of a win, having defeated Gyorgy Varga at the start of the month. On the other hand, Donnellan has not fought in over a year and will have to be on his guard against complaceny.
