Heavyweight and debutant first names confirmed on ‘He Who Dares’ card

The first names to fight on the ‘He Who Dares’ Belfast card have been confirmed today.

Mickey Helliet and Slater Sports confirmed yesterday they would bring a third pro October show to the capital of Irish boxing.

Today they confirmed two names that will fight at the Devenish on what is rumoured to be a stacked card.

Ruadhan Farrell will debut on the fight night and heavyweight Paddy Nevin will also appear.

Belfast’s Farrell, who has teamed up with Boxing Ireland, was set to join the pro ranks on Ray Moylette’s televised ‘Homecoming’ card in December of last year, but pulled out because he wanted to debut in his home city.

A delayed debut never materalized as the teen fell on some hard times. A period of depression and the loss of his grandfather left Farrell in a tough place.

However, he has recovered now and with a more healthy mindset he is keen to look forward and make an impression in the ring.

The John Breen trained bantamweight gets the chance to do that now come October as he has secured a debut date and a slot on a card in his home town.

St Michaels’ big man Paddy Nevin will fight for a third time on the card.

The Steven O’Rourke trained fighter had two fights in two months back in late 2018 and will finally get to add to his ring experience come October.

More fighters are expected to be confirmed soon and rumour suggests the card may play host to a number of title fights.
