Belfast April 30 bill could play host to exciting all middleweight clash

The proposed Matchroom Belfast April show could play host to a mouthwatering all Irish middleweight title fight.

The mutted Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan versus Eamonn O’Kane could play out on the Ryan Burnett topped bill which look set to play out live on Sky Sports on April 30.

O’Kane and O’Sullivan, who are both coming off the back defeat in World title eliminators, have both agreed in principle to put aside their freindship for ten rounds, but are just waiting on a platform worthy of the clash and a promoter, who can afford to host it.

Matchroom and Eddie Hearn have expressed an interest and the fight could take place in Belfast on April 30.

“I have spoken with Paddy Fitzpatrick about that fight well before it was mentioned online or on Twitter. I have spoken to Spike and both he and Eamonn are up for it. It’s mainly down to Matchroom now to see if they can make it,” O’Sullivan’s coach and manager Pascal Collins told Irish-boxing.com.

“Matchroom promoting it is probably the only way you can do the fight and give it the proper platform. It is perfect for that show they are looking to do in Belfast in April.

“It is a decent fight and they are still two names known to Sky viewers. I think the only people that can do that fight are Matchroom and Eddie Hearn.

“It is a great fight for both fighters, a fan friendly fight and one that has the potentail to be entertaining and close.”
