Wilton/McBride prepare for action

Belfasts Luke Wilton will get the chance to avenge defeat at the hands of Usman Ahmed, having been matched with the 28-year-old Derby native on this Fridays Sky Live card in Doncaster.

Wilton, who is tracking down a British title clash was defeated by Ahmed at Dublin City University in December 2008 but has been keen on a rematch ever since.

Ahmed, who sports a record of 6-3-1 has come up short against quality operators Chris Edwards (twice) and Ashley Sexton.

Victory for Witon, 7-3-1 (3KO) could secure a domestic title tilt.

Meanwhile, former Irish heavyweight champion and Mike Tyson conqueror Kevin McBride, 34-6-1 (29KO) returns to action for the first time since 2007 against Robert Hawkins on July 10 in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Clones skyscraper McBrides return spices up the domestic heavyweight scene with former Commonwealth kingpin Martin Rogan also set to return in the autumn.
