Where is Waldo? He is back boxing and will fight in May

Dee ‘Waldo’ Walsh has ended his premature retirement, has returned to boxing and will make his comeback on May 10.

The 23 year old Belfast light middleweight hung up his gloves in 2012 after notching up five straight wins in 12 months, but returns at the Devenish Complex in just over two months time.

‘Where’s Waldo’? was the question a lot of fight fans were asking over the last few years, especially as there was a deal of excitement about the talented prospect. Speaking to the Belfast Newsletter the former NoWhere2Hyde puncher revealed he took time out to be a father, but is eager to return.

β€œI am looking forward to it and I missed being in the limelight. I took time out to be a dad to my son and now I am ready to return. I have signed with Mark Dunlop because he keeps his boxers busy and I will be fighting in Belfast on May 10 and June 28. The aim is to stay active and then go for the Irish title,” said Wlash.

Manger and promoter Dunlop also expressed his excitement at Walsh’s return and hinted at a promotional link up with Martin Rogan.

β€œHe is a talented boy and he will go far. I have also signed a promotional deal with Martin Rogan and there will be big news about Rogan very soon.”
