We enter into the final month of the year and it’s a busy weekend ahead for Irish fighters with action all across the globe.

Kicking us off on Friday afternoon is Blanchardstown light welterweight Darragh Foley [9(7)-2(0)]. Super Foley defends his WBA Oceania title at Luna Park in Sydney against tough Argentinian Sergio Eduardo Gonzalez over ten rounds.

Then in Canada, Red Deer Rebel Cam O’Connell [13(9)-0-1] tops the bill at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton. The heavy-hitting lightweight takes on Juan Bedolla Orozko.

Saturday is a big day, and Luton-Wexford lightweight Michael Devine [14(4)-5(2)-1] fights for the BBBoC Southern Area title against friend and former gym mate Ben Day at the York Hall in London.

There is big Irish interest on the MGM Scotland card at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley which will be shown live on Boxnation. Stephen Ormond [22(12)-3(1)] looks for revenge against Hungarian Zoltan Szabo, who knocked him out last month, while Jono Carroll [12(1)-0] takes on recent African lightweight title challenger Clark Telamanou of the Congo.

At the Hilton Hotel in Coventry, Steven Ward [1(0)-0] will be given a tough test in just his second fight. The Belfast light heavyweight will have to be on his toes to overcome Lithuanian Remigijus Ziausys.

There is also some rare Sunday action this weekend, as two Dublin big men step through the ropes in Liverpool. Heavyweight Sean Turner [9(6)-0] and cruiserweight Ian Tims [12(3)-3(2)] both feature on the MGM Liverpool show at the Devonshire House Hotel against to-be-confirmed opposition.
