Wexford big man Niall Kennedy [8(5)-0] moved his career to the next level on Saturday night with a big knockout victory to win the Massachusetts State heavyweight title.
The Gorey Garda stopped Jesse Barboza in the eighth round of their bout at the House of Blues in Boston on the Murphys Boxing ‘St Patrick’s Clash 2’ card.
Kennedy was on top for much of what was a competitive clash, adding the icing on the cake in the final round by sending the Hyannis fighter through the ropes for a knockout win.
