WATCH: McGregor seeks out boxing media and says he will take over boxing

He was there to support Mick Conlan as the hot Belfast prospect began what he promises will end as the greatest Irish boxing career there has ever been.

Indeed, Conor McGregor a former Crumlin amateur watched as Conlan made somewhat of an impression, taking the hype and pressure in his stride to register a routine win without having to consult his best form.

However, the two weight UFC World champion and MMA superstar, wasted no time in regrabbing some of the spotlight from the Top Rank debutante.

Once Conlan had exited stage left, ‘The Notorious’ took his chance to address the boxing press.

The Dubliner told them to ‘watch me take over boxing,’ before predicting he will stop Mayweather and make the world eat their words.

“Trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what’s coming. I’m going to shock the whole damn world. Look me in the eyes. Twenty-eight years of age. Confident as a motherf*cker, confident, rangy, dangerous with every round. Trust me. I’m going to stop Floyd and you’re all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words. You’ll hear about it.”
