Jono Carroll wasn’t long about ensuring his clash with John Quigley is the one fans are anticipating the most from a good Waterfront hosted card in Belfast this Saturday.

Three time Olympian and fan favourite Paddy Barnes tops the bill in a WBO European title fight, while Stephen Ormond’s clash with Craig Evans has firework potential, but Carroll’s fight week approach has caught fan attention.

The Dub and his fellow undefeated featherweight were the only fighters to exchange words at the final press conference and upped the beef element at today’s weigh in.

The pair had to be separated after Quigley shoved the Irishman in Belfast today.

Seconds earlier Carroll had come in over two pounds above the 130lbs super featherweight limit. The Dunshaughlin boxer was shocked with the result and claims he had been on weight mere minutes earlier on the same scales. Regardless, ‘King Kong’ shed the requisite excess and came in again at 129lbs.
