Watch: Irish International James McClean put through his paces by Floyd Mayweather

Not for the first time Irish International James McClean has swapped his football boots for a pair of boxing gloves.

Whilst holidaying in Las Vegas the Stoke wide man dropped into the Mayweather Gym.

McClean was put through his paces by former pro, trainer and the father of Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, Mayweather snr- although it’s safe to assume the combative Derry footballer would be more fists flying than shoulder rolling if he was ever to compete in the ring.

It’s not the first time the former Derry City player has been seen in a boxing gym. McClean has a gra for the sport and is even adept at sparring.

The 30 year old visited Oakleaf Boxing Club for a workout which included some sparring with club man Conor McBride.

While McBride may have being taking it slightly easy on the Premier League footballer, McClean certainly showed a degree of pugilistic talent and would make a decent welterweight should he ever choose to swap his football boots for boxing gloves.
