WATCH: Highlights of a big stoppage win for Larry Fryers

Monaghan welterweight Larry Fryers [2(1)-0] scored a big stoppage win earlier this month in California.

The New York-based Clones boxer made a cross country trip for a fight on February 11th where he stopped debutant Rodrigo Padilla in the third round in Palm Springs.

‘Lethal’ Larry’s promoters, Liveco Boxing, have released highlights of the stoppage triumph:

The victory serves as a perfect start to 2017 for the Ulsterman, and his focus will now be on a high-profile undercard slot on Mick Conlan’s debut card at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on St Patrick’s Day.

Fryers has had an opponent named for this four-round bout. Top Rank have confirmed that he will face Gabriel Solario [2(0)-3(2)-1]. The Seattle boxer promises to be a tricky test having been narrowly edged out by Mexican prospect Julian Sosa on the James DeGale v Badou Jack undercard in New York last month.

2015 World gold medalist Conlan tops the bill on his professional debut, taking on Tim Ibarra.

Fryers is currently the only other Irishman set to feature on the bill, with further support from unbeaten light welters Julian Rodriguez and Alex Saucedo, as well as Jose Gonzalez and Rio Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceicao.
