Watch as recovered Geraghty congratulates McCullough post KO defeat

This is good to see for two particular reasons.

Not only does it show what a gentlemanly sport boxing can be but it’s also evidence Declan Geraghty wasn’t seriously injured after being knocked out in dramatic fashion at the Ulster Hall on Friday night.

Less than an hour before ‘Pretty Boy’ was dropped hard by a right on the button right hand and was briefly given oxygen before he leaving the ring.

The Dubliner had every right to feel somewhat sorry for himself post the reverse as he had indicated he would call it a day if he lost the cross roads fight.

However the fighter steeped in the sport and it’s traditions put aside his heartache and all but admitted the better man won on the night by visiting the new IBF European ranking belt holders dressing room to congratulate on the victory.

The pair had shown each other respect for the majority of the build up but it was put on hold from the weigh in and up and until after the final bell- and it seems neither of the former teams mates will hold a grudge and they wished each other well post the clash.
