WATCH: The 12 year old Tipperary boxer that has Irish boxing fans talking

Some of our readers may have noticed a video circulating around social media recently of a young Irish boxer with some seriously impressive skills.

The video comes from the Munster Boy championships over the weekend, and shows a young Clonmel southpaw exhibiting beautiful footwork, head movement and shot selection.

The fighter in question is 12 year old Conor O’Donovan (red vest) who won both his quarter final and semi final at the weekend and marched on to the Boy 2 38.5kg final this Sunday,

So impressive was O’Donovan’s performance in the quarter finals, spectator Michael Duggan was compelled to get out his camera and record some of the action.

The Tipperary fighter is yet another talent coming through the community-driven club in Clonmel which has given us stars such as Con Sheehan, Dean Gardiner, and Shauna O’Keefe over the years.

The video is a perfect example of natural talent complimented by the top training at Clonmel who are some of the many hard-working volunteers around Ireland who give up their time to help keep our conveyor belt of talent rolling.

Watch Conor O’Donovan in action below:
