The 2015 light heavyweight National Elite semi finalist is turning over, but will debut at the venue where he won 10 Irish titles- at various levels and age groups- the National Stadium.

The ‘Ginga Ninja’, who will be coached an promoted by none other than Ricky Hatton, will punch for pay for the first time on FS Promotion’s ‘The Future’ card and claims it will be like fighting at home.

back where I won my 10 all Ireland titles so it’s just like home,” the Navan man told irish-boxing.com before revealing his reason’s for turning over at this point.

“I decided to turn pro now because I feel I’m the right age at 24. I have a great team behind me such as Ricky Hatton. Without the head gear now amateur boxing is the same as pro so I might as well start getting paid for it!”

Blaney told fans to expect a boxer who loves to go to war, but can employ skill when needs be. The Navan fighter, who is currently in Hatton’s Gym Manchester preparing for his debut has also set the Irish title as his first real fight goal.

“Style wise, I like a good war-as long as I come out the winner-but I have no problem boxing long and making them miss and countering,” he added.

“The short term plans are to learn as much as I can off Ricky, he’s been there and done it all so everything he says I try to do, Long term of course is to be world champion just like everyone in this game, the first title I want is the Irish belt! I was there when Pauly Upton won his three weeks ago and it was brilliant, after I have Irish belt I’ll move on fast I hope. At the end of the day that’s really up to Ricky and my team.”
