Venue and date for Frampton homecoming

Carl Frampton’s massive homecoming will take place on Saturday July 29th.

Adamant he wanted to give back to the fans that had twice traveled to America to support him in his huge World title clashes with Leo Santa Cruz, Belfast’s first ever two-weight World champion had confirmed he will fight at home this Summer.

Windsor Park was not only mooted, but essentially confirmed by Frampton in recent months as the venue that would host the massive homecoming.

In recent weeks a number of dates including ones in late July and early August were being churned out by the rumour mill, but Irish-Boxing.com has been led to believe that July 29th will be date to host what promises to be one of the biggest nights in Irish boxing history

Now after the when and where have seemingly been set, the who should be announced very soon. ‘The Jackal’ had hoped to for a third Santa Cruz installment, but the LA-based Mexican gave a number of reasons for being unwilling to travel. Lee Selby was another said to be on the list, but his team claim there has been no contact regarding a World title fight.

A host of other names have called for the clash, but no official announcement has been made.
