Upcoming Belfast fight night postponed

One of the upcoming cards on the Irish boxing schedule has been postponed.

The next MHD Promotions show, a dinner show set for Saturday September 30th at the Europa Hotel in Belfast, has today been put on hold.

MHD-managed Belfast duo Paul Hyland Jr and Feargal McCrory had been set to feature on the bill alongside Coalisland’s Feargal McCrory and Roscommon middle Darren Cruise.

Promoter Mark Dunlop explained that “I will be moving my show date from 30th September at the Europa Hotel to a date later in the year, all the lads scheduled for the above date will be in exciting fights in October with details to follow shortly.”

It is assumed that Dunlop is referring to the Matchroom bill in the city that looks set for Saturday October 21st where Ryan Burnett will defend his IBF bantamweight title.

Burnett claimed the belt last month at the SSE Odyssey Arena, a card which Dunlop had a large involvement in and one where Hyland, Tennyson, and McCrory all claimed notable wins.

The Matchroom Belfast bill will be officially confirmed next week, while the new date for the postponed September 30th card is expected some time in the coming weeks.
