Tyrone McCullagh hits back and shows off hilarious transformation in reply to TJ Doheny

Tyrone McCullagh [12(6)-0] has responded to world champion TJ Doheny in his own unique way.

The IBF super bantamweight champion posted a video yesterday hitting out at McCullagh for calling for a clash between the pair.

The Portlaoise puncher feels his Derry rival needs to do more to earn a shot and Doheny [21(15)-0] would also lambast McCullagh’s fighting style, belittled his two biggest wins, and predicted that he would be knocked out by Irish super bantamweight champion Carl McDonald.

‘White Chocolate’ responded on Twitter yesterday before going one further earlier today with a video reply of his own.

In his initial post, McCullagh drew attention to Doheny’s third fight back in 2012 when he was dropped by journeyman Roberto Oyan as well as including a screenshot of an alleged message from ‘The Power’. This message, which had been the basis of initial whispers that Doheny was not happy with the call-outs, sees the 32-year-old instructing someone to take down a Facebook comment in which they suggested a fight between him and McCullagh.

The Foylesider then sent a video response today, poking fun at Doheny’s clip which was sent from his Sydney backgarden swimming pool as well as revealing previous communications between the pair.

McCullagh looked slightly different following a crazy Saturday in which himself and Tyrone McKenna left themselves at the mercy of their Instagram followers and ended up with a heavy spray tan and shaved eyebrows.

The noted joker said “TJ Doheny, I didn’t get round to replying to you yesterday. A few things you said might have raised a few eyebrows, but not mine.”

“Now, what the people didn’t see was the messages you sent me on Instagram before you blocked me begging me to stop messaging you or mentioning you. Crying, more or less, it was embarrassing/”

“But my team mates seen it, Sean McComb, Paddy Barnes, Tyrone McKenna, we all had a good laugh at you

“Now look, I wanted to fight you because you’re a world champion. We could have made history in an all-Irish title fight. But fuck that, I’ll fight you even if you’re not world champion.”

“I’ll beat you, I’ll beat you anywhere, any place and you’ll be a half-decent name on my record.”#

“Bye, Bye.”

McCullagh is in his new camp in Glasgow preparing for a fight on the March 29th Ulster Hall show in Belfast having seen a proposed Derry homecoming bill pushed back.

Doheny, who has said that his video yesterday will be his last mention of McCullagh, is currently on a short break following his maiden successful title defence over Ryohei Takahashi and he will return to camp in Boston soon for a proposed unification with WBA champ Danny Roman in Los Angeles in April.
