Two new fighters announced for ‘Frampton Reborn’ undercard

Two new Irish fighters have been confirmed for the big bill in Belfast next month.

The BT Sport cameras come to the Titanic City on Saturday November 18th for ‘Frampton Reborn’ – with Carl Frampton making his homecoming and debut under Frank Warren, with Jamie Conlan also challenging IBF super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.

This morning two more fighters were added to the bill at the SSE Odyssey Arena – Davey Oliver Joyce and Steven Ward.

Super featherweight Joyce [3(2)-0] has had brilliant start to pro life since turning over in the wake of his Rio Olympic campaign. The Mullingar fighter claimed a good six-round win against Ivan Godor last month, and fights again on October 21st on the Ryan Burnett v Zhanat Zhakiyanov undercard – which also takes place at the Odyssey.

The three-time EU gold medalist is keen to be moved quickly, and November 18th could mark his first ‘big’ fight.

Light heavyweight Ward [5(2)-0] has also enjoyed a perfect transition to the pros. The Newtownabbey boxer fought on the same card as Joyce last month, claiming a first round stoppage of Attila Tibor Nagy.

‘The Quiet Man’ was due to take a step up on this card against former BBBoC Central Area champ Carl Wild only to see this fight fall through. It is hoped the Commonwealth Games silver medalist will finally get a step up in class next month.

Carl Frampton faces Horacio Garcia in the main event alongside Ancajas-Conlan. Also on the bill, Zolani Tete defends his WBO bantamweight title against Siboniso Gonya, Paddy Barnes defends his WBO European flyweight title, and Declan Geraghty and Jono Carroll engage in a much-anticipated rematch.
