Top prospect added to ‘Frampton Reborn’ undercard


Gary Cully [1(1)-0] is having a fantastic start to his professional career.

The Naas lightweight made a hugely impressive debut last month at the Devenish in Belfast and this month returns to the city for a sport on the Ryan Burnett v Zhanat Zhakiyanov undercard at the SSE Odyssey Arena.

Now southpaw Cully has secured a spot on another major card.

In addition to his appearance on the Matchroom bill on Saturday October 21st, Cully has been confirmed for the ‘Frampton Reborn’ card at the same venue on Saturday November 18th

The 2013 European Youth gold medalist turned pro during the summer, signing a management contract with MTK Global. Cully stopped the rugges gyula Tallosi inside a minute on his pro bow on the Ginley Promotions ‘Danger at The Devenish’ bill.

Now over the next six weeks the rather unique Kildare fighter will get the chance to impress promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren

The Pete Taylor-trained 21 year old features alongside gym mate Davey Oliver Joyce on both cards.

Opponents for Cully, who has been involved in some online back-and-forths with Aiden Metcalfe recently, will be announced shortly.

Also on the ‘Frampton Reborn’ card in six weeks time will be Steven Ward, Paddy Barnes, an all-South African WBO bantamweight title fight between Zolani Tete and Siboniso Gonya, a rematch between Declan Geraghty and Jono Carroll, and Jamie Conlan’s title challenge against IBF super fly champ Jerwin Ancajas
