Title eliminator for Sonny Upton

Next month, light middleweight Sonny Upton is aiming to be the first of the boxing brothers to win a professional title. On November 21st, the middle Upton fights at the York Hall alongside elder sibling Pauly, knowing that a win could put him in line for a maiden title shot.

Sonny [9(5)-2(1)] faces Ryan Toms [14(8)-11(5)-2] over ten rounds at the historic venue in an English title eliminator. The Ricky Hatton-trained fighter will be confident of winning in London and securing a shot at current champ Nav Mansoori [15(5)-1(0)].

The fight acts as the headline attraction of the Goodwin Promotions show titled ‘The Cartel.’

There is plenty of other Irish interest on the massive eighteen fight card. Galway welterweight John O’Donnell acts as chief support, Pauly Upton steps up to eight rounds for the first time, Derry featherweight Tyrone McCullagh makes his Goodwin debut, Northern journeymen Alec Bazza and Moses Matovu will help prospects in their development, and there is an intriguing match-up between Bangor welterweight Casey Blair and Portsmouth-born, Belfast-based Michael McKinson.
