Times and Opponents for Irish boxers tomorrow at World University Championships

Following two guaranteed bronze medals today through Christina Desmond and Kenny Okungbowa, Ireland will tomorrow look to claim two more medals tomorrow at the World Universities Championships in Thailand.

Tomorrow morning in Chiang Mai, Monaghan lightweight Gary McKenna and Cavan flyweight Céire Smith will step through the ropes for quarter final action.

First up is DCU’s Smith who faces Frenchwoman Wassila Lkhadiri at approximately 08:15AM (Irish time). The 21 year old won bronze at the 2014 European Championships, but Smith will be confident in her abilities to claim the win and her first major international medal.

Then, at 09:00AM (Irish time), UUJ’s McKenna takes on Kyrgyzstan’s Temirlan Osmonov, The fight will be the 23 year old Central Asian’s second of the tournament (McKenna received a bye) having defeated Ukranian Vladyslav Vyetoshkin via split decision yesterday.

They bouts will be streamed live on the tournament’s official website
