‘The Silencer’ McKenna make more noise taking out another opponent live on DAZN

Aaron McKenna waved goodbye his teens in destructive style in America last night.

The Monaghan fighter, who turns 20 early next month, registered his eight successive win registering victory at the Fantasy Springs Casino and kept his unblemished record in tact.

‘The Silencer’ dominated and eventually stopped Mexican Daniel Perales live on a Golden Boy promoted DAZN broadcast card. 

The 19-year-old dropped Perales, who was the first fighter he faced not to bring a winning record to the ring with him, in the first round.

The younger brother of Stevie McKenna, who was registering his second successive knockout win the week previous, continued the onslaught in the second and had his fifth career stoppage before a minute of the second stanza was completed.

“I feel good, I felt very strong,” McKenna said in the ring after the win.

“It was a really good performance. I was in with an experienced fighter and took him out early.

“Once I had the first exchange I knew I could handle him and get him out of there. I’m delighted with my performance.”

“It was a good learning fight. It’s important that Aaron develops that KO punch and gets these type of fighters out early,” his father Fergal McKenna added.

“This was the perfect setting for that. Aaron is starting to hit harder. It was very evident in this fight.”
