The ‘Hitman’ has arrived- McKenna handed pro debut date

Vaunted young talent Stevie McKenna has finally been handed a debut date.

The 21-year-old will follow his teen brother into the pro ranks as soon as April 6th.

The former National Elite amateur champion and decorated International ditched the vest officially last year and has been training with brother Aaron ‘The Silencer’ McKenna Stateside for some time now, but has finally confirmed a paid fight.

Gavan Casey of the42.ie confirms the Monaghan puncher will trade leather at Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, south-east Los Angeles early next month.

Trey Branch [0-2] will provide debut opposition for ‘The Hitman’ over four rounds, with McKenna set to campaign at lightweight.

McKenna has joined his brother on the management books of Sheer Sports and will continue to train alongside his younger sibling under the guidance of  South African former heavyweight contender Courage Tshabalala.

It was expected the Monaghan fighter would follow his brother onto the books of Golden Boy, but a promotional agreement has yet to be confirmed.

The McKenna’s join the Phelan’s Allan and Katelynn as active Irish boxing siblings and follow the likes of the Hyland, Conlan, Collins, Upton, and Loughrans as fighting brothers.
