Floyd Mayweather is set for a return to the boxing ring later this month when he takes on UFC star Conor McGregor in a huge event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Tickets were in hot demand once they went on sale for the fight, while pay-per-view buys are predicted to hit record levels around the world.

With a record of 49-0 going into the fight with the former UFC champion, Mayweather is the 1/5 favourite to come out on top in the latest boxing odds for the contest and should probably be a lot shorter given that McGregor has never fought in a professional boxing match before. Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya, and Manny Pacquiao have all tried and failed to beat the five-division champion and even at the age of 40, he will still be in good enough shape to take on McGregor.

Mayweather is 4/6 to win the fight by KO, TKO, or disqualification, almost two years after he was in the ring against Andre Berto and that is the most likely result in the method of victory market. McGregor should be a sitting duck so once Mayweather settles down it may be a case of when the American boxer wants to stop his opponent. 

The round betting is the market in this fight where you can pick up a bit of value if you have a strong opinion. Mayweather is unlikely to rush in to try and get the job done early; therefore, the middle rounds are the ones which are of interest. Money to win in round 5 is available at 12/1, while a victory for the unbeaten welterweight in round 6 is 11/1.

Nathan Cleverly defends his WBA (Regular) light-heavyweight title against Badou Jack on the undercard of Mayweather-McGregor card. The Welsh boxer produced the performance of his career last time to defeat tough German opponent Jurgen Brahmer in Neubrandenburg. At 3/1 in the match betting for the fight later this month, Cleverly is a huge price at 3/1 to successfully defend his crown.

Jack is stepping up the light-heavyweight division for the first time in his career and as we have seen with many boxers in the past, it is not always easy moving up in weight. The Swedish boxer has had good wins over George Groves, Lucian Bute and Anthony Dirrell at super-middleweight, however, he did get caught by Derek Edwards in the first round back in 2014, while in his most recent fight against James DeGale he picked up a draw when many boxing fans felt the British boxer had won the fight.

Cleverly will be hoping to move on after this fight and try to unify one of the other belts in the strong light-heavyweight division.
