‘The Test’- Team Tenny confirm Hughes title fight and British title eliminator

MHD Promotions have agreed terms with Morrison Promotions, Glasgow, to stage the British Boxing Board of Control Celtic Featherweight Title between defending champion Kris Hughes W17 L5 from Bellshill, Glasgow against 21 year old West Belfast Featherweight sensation James Tennyson W11 L1 in a contest that doubles up as an eliminator for the British Featherweight Title.

The exciting match- up between a classic southpaw boxer in the champion Hughes V Tennyson the hardest hitting Featherweight the UK and Ireland with a 75% KO ratio will be held in the Andersontown Leisure Centre on Saturday 28th March 2015.

Kris Hughes (27) is a strong and durable former Scottish Featherweight Champion who has only failed to hear the final bell twice in 22 contests against the Commonwealth Lightweight Champion Richard Commey W20(18KO)L0 & Belfast’s own IBF Super Bantamweight Champion Carl Frampton for the Commonwealth Title.

James Tennyson (21) is the youngest professional boxer in 60 Years to win an Irish Title at the tender age of 19 on only his fifth fight and has boxed in Scotland, England, Hungary, Dublin, and Dundalk & Belfast gaining some valuable experience and 9 impressive KO victories along the way, climbing his way to Number 4 in the British Rakings.

The winner of this big fight is guaranteed a shot at the winner of the Ryan Walsh v Samir Mouneinme BBBofC ordered contest for the vacant title.

The exciting line up will also feature the undefeated prospects Paul Hyland Jnr, James Fryers & the talented Irish Light Middleweight Champion Dee Walsh with more names to be added.
