Team Noely Murphy tell Team John Joyce to get in touch for big New York fight

Team Noely Murphy have told John Joyce [7(4)-0] to get in touch if they want to get it on.

It was more painful for Joyce to name drop the Cork man when speaking to Irish-Boxing.com last week than to take a shot flush on the chin but, having squirmed through the process and ‘suggesting’ a possible fight rather than ‘calling out’ Murphy, the über-respectful welter seems to have reaped the reward.

The 24-year-old light welter’s team read what the Lucan native had to say regarding what would look to be an extremely marketable fight and are open to hearing more.

Murphy [12(2)-1(0)] is currently focused on bouncing back from his first pro defeat and has a fight with Andre Byrd [6(1)-4(0)-1] in Queens on December 7th – but his manager claims he is willing to consider Joyce as a 2019 opponent.

Kevin Crowley has a plan in place for the New York-based fighter, but is always open to suggestions and offers and is willing to discuss the prospect of a Joyce-Murphy domestic clash.

The Cork manager responded, getting in touch with Irish-Boxing.com, and claimed that, if it makes sense, the bout could be made and is adamant Murphy himself wouldn’t turn it down.

“I saw the piece on the site and we have no problem with John suggesting a fight with Noely Murphy. That could be a potential fight in 2019,” Crowley said.

“There’s a lot of potential fights for Noel in 2019. John says he has big plans for 2019 and so do we – but plans change all the time in boxing as we all know, so you never know what will happen.

“One thing about Noel is he has no problem fighting anybody you can see that from his record. He doesn’t worry about opponents he leaves that to me. I give him a name and he trains for them,” he added before emphasising December 7th is the sole focus for now.

“For now, Noel is only thinking of next Friday night and fully focusing on that. It’s my job as manager to have his next move planned out and I do have plans for him.”

“We are dealing with a few different potential fights in the U.S., but with that said I wish good luck to John in his next fight. Keep winning John and I can talk to your team after this fight if they want to contact me.”
