Stephen Ormond to return to the ring NEXT WEEK

Stephen Ormond [24(13)-5(1)] will return to the ring next week.

The Dublin lightweight has not fought in almost eight months and will step into the ring for the thirtieth time on Friday June 15th at the Middleton Arena just outside of Manchester.

‘The Rock’ will fight in a six-round comeback contest on the Black Flash Promotions bill.

35-year-old Ormond said that he will use the bout to “shake the cobwebs off [and] get ready for the big fights.”

The fight with a to-be-confirmed foe will be Ormond’s first since his controversial loss to Paul Hyland last October. The Belfast boxer himself will fight the night after Clondalkin’s Ormond, taking on British champion Lewis Ritson in Newcastle.

The card next week is topped by a BBBoC Central Area light middleweight title fight between Evaldas Korsakas and Denton Vassell with undercard support from Sean Ben Mulligan, John Telford, Ryan Oliver, and Jake James.
