Spike O’Sullivan v David Lemieux – BETTING ODDS

The fight is in the betting capital of the world and there are plenty of markets available for Spike O’Sullivan’s big clash with David Lemieux tomorrow night in Las Vegas.

The middleweight punchers meet in a WBA world title final eliminator, live in Ireland on eir Sport, at the T-Mobile Arena in one of the chief support bouts to Gennady Golovkin’s WBA-WBC middleweight title rematch versus Canelo Alvarez.

34-year-old O’Sullivan [28(20)-2(1)] is a slight underdog for the fight with bookmakers and no deposit free bet sites but the prices, at the very least, suggest that it is a match-up that could go any way.

The Leesider is on the best run of form of his career and looks to be in good shape and high spirits ahead of a clash which has had a heated build-up.

29-year-old Lemieux is younger and the prevailing narrative has been that the former world champion is on something of a downward spiral. Whether this is true remains to be seen and the Québécois puncher’s power can not be disputed.

The best price for an O’Sullivan win comes in at 7/4 and this is available with SkyBet, Paddy Power, and Betfair.

For Lemieux to emerge victorious, prices are generally 1/2 or worse but 4/7 is available with Marathon.

Two heavy punchers, a draw seems unlikely and this is reflected by the 33/1 price with both Paddy Power and Betfair.

In terms of Method of Victory, a Spike stoppage is 3/1 (Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, Betfair, Coral) while a points win for the Mahon man is 13/2 (Paddy Power, Betfair).

For Lemieux, a stoppage is around evens, with the best price coming in at 19/17 (Marathon). Similarly, a points win for the Montreal man is around 4/1 and as high as 5/1 (Blacktype).

The bookmakers are expecting a stoppage either way, and the fight is as short as 4/11 to NOT go the distance (BetVictor) and 5/2 for the full 12 rounds to be completed (SkyBet).
