Small Hall Brawl added to Celtic Clash 7 line-up

The ‘Celtic Clash 7’ card next month is on course to be one of the best small hall bills in recent Irish boxing history.

The Boxing Ireland Promotions and Tony Davitt Promotions show at the Good Counsel GAA Club in Dublin on Saturday November 24th is set to feature two Irish title fights and, this evening, a six-round all-Irish fight has been confirmed.

It has been announced that Dublin lightweights Karl Kelly [1(0)-2(0)] and Martin Quinn [2(1)-0] will face-off on the card on what looks to be a guaranteed brawl.

Monkstown’s Kelly featured on the last Celtic Clash show during the summer where he pushed Victor Rabei all the way in an entertaining BUI Celtic light welterweight title fight.

The Jay Byrne-managed, fight-anyone 23-year-old has elected against rebuilding versus a journeyman and instead goes in against his fellow come-forward Dub in a fight where the winner will move in line for a BUI Celtic lightweight title fight.

Crumlin’s Quinn scored two wins in 2017 but has had awful luck this year with injuries, opponent pull-outs, and show cancellations.

The 31-year-old, therefore, makes a jump into domestic fights earlier than expected as he looks to make up for lost time and round 2018 off with a bang.

Two scrappers possessing both power and charisma, the match-up looks to be a perfect small hall fight and joins the strongest ‘Celtic Clash’ line-up yet.

Jobstown duo Carl McDonald and Dylan McDonagh will battle it out for the Irish super bantamweight title while Feargal McCrory and Stephen McAfee are close to agreeing an Irish super featherweight title fight. Then there are appearances for Lynn Harvey, Keane McMahon, Martin Wall, and Eddie Treacy, as well as a professional debut for Siobhan O’Leary.
