Amanda Serrano suggests she is coming to knock Katie Taylor out

Amanda Serrano [35(26)-1(0)-1] has suggested she will come and try knock Katie Taylor out in 2019.

The Puerto Rican six-weight world champion has been highlighted a the fight Team Taylor want next year.

Indeed, the IBF and WBA champion has been adamant for some time now that the younger sister of Cindy Serrano, who the Bray star humbled in Boston earlier this year, is the biggest fight in women’s boxing at present.

After initially calling for the clash, Serrano distanced herself from a scrap with the unified world champ around the time her sister challenged for Taylor’s titles, but has since left MMA to return to boxing.

The fact she has agreed to work with Matchroom and DAZN suggests the fight is now a cert.

Olympic gold medalist, Taylor [12(5)-0] called for it again after dominating the previously undefeated Eva Wahlstrom in Madison Square Garden last night and Serrano responded positively.

Serrano claimed her soon-to-be foe’s opponents to date brought no real threat whilst warning that she brings power to the table.

“I feel so honored to have been mentioned so much on DAZN tonight. Even from Katie Taylor,” said the Caribbean puncher.

“I’m ready! I’m not looking to go the distance like all these Pillow punchers. Everyone talks like a killer but struggle to get people out of there. I don’t go the distance to often.”

While it’s a massive and mouthwatering fight, Serrano won’t be next for Taylor. The experienced 30-year-old first has a date with history and will bid to become a seven weight world champion early next year.

The New Yorker will look to add the super flyweight title to the straps she won at bantamweight, super bantamweight, featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and light welterweight.

German Raja Amasheh seems to be the likely opponent on a card at Madison Square Garden on Friday January 18th before a contest to readjust to the lightweight division and then onto a Taylor super-fight

It looks like Taylor will return in March first, and may look to unify the division completely before she takes on Serrano.

In Philadelphia on St Patrick’s Weekend Taylor looks set to unify with WBO champ Rose Volante before turning attentions to WBC titlist Delfine Persoon and then onto Serrano.
